Original Wedding: Jacqui and John at the Dulles Hilton

I could tell the very first time I met with Jacqui and John that what they had was special. The fact that Jacqui describes the way they met as her “mildly stalking” John, and the way John treats Jacqui with such tenderness, were dead giveaways.

Leading up to their wedding, Jacqui and I would exchange emails about vendor recommendations and how to take her love of romantic/ vintage and mix it with something a little more modern. We talked about centerpieces and design ideas, all the while John stayed under the radar, like many grooms do. So when their wedding day finally came I was excited not only to see their ballroom transformed, but also to see another side of John. His welcome speech was fantastic, referencing Jacqui’s constant reminders of their friends all having kids, wishing the moms a happy Mother’s Day, encouraging the guests to take advantage of the open bar and sharing his hope that their guests make memories with them on what was going to be “one of the happiest days of {their} lives”. It was refreshing to see how much Jacqui and John cared about this day, not only for themselves, but also for their guests. They were truly humbled that everyone had come to share in their wedding day and that set the tone for the rest of the night.

Jacqui and John’s wedding day was filled with lush floral arrangements, vintage touches, playful details (like their fast food table numbers!) and family and friends that came to celebrate. And a celebration it was!
