Recently, I discovered the My WeddingDJ app and I wanted to share it for those of you who are looking to drastically cut costs for your wedding day. It's an app that fills some of the duties of a wedding DJ. That's right-- If you are looking for ways to save money on your wedding, consider hiring your (or a friend's) iPad.
The My WeddingDJ app, available on the iPhone or iPad for a mere $1.99, let's you build playlists for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. It even let's the person operating it easily flow from one song to the next for each part of the ceremony, complete with automatic fading (the cocktail hour and reception sections just shuffle playlists).
Now I'm not suggesting that the app can provide you with ALL of the services of a DJ, because it certainly cannot act as a master of ceremonies, announce your bridal party, or get your quiet guests pumped up, but it can lower costs if you have someone willing to do these things for you.
This app is also a great idea if you have a reception DJ, but don't have anyone to do your ceremony music. If you are not getting married in a church, or somewhere with a sound system, it can be costly to have either your DJ provide two music set-ups or to hire someone completely different.
Just an idea to consider!
